Government Have Lost Track of Foreign Prisoners

Government Have Lost Track of Foreign Prisoners

Immigration Minister admits that he doesn’t know where foreign prisoners are.  The exchange in the Commons yesterday, the Immigration Minister, Damian Green in response to a question from Warley MP John Spellar admitted that it is difficult to say where the prisoners were “because they may be travelling around.”

This was in answer to a question from Warley MP John Spellar who said:-

“Does he have a clue where the various prisoners are, how many are in the West Midlands for example.”

Afterwards John Spellar MP said:-

“The deportation rate is falling back and they seem to have great difficulty in telling us where these prisoners are.  Unfortunately this is only too typical of the Home Office and of this particular Minister.  He should either get a grip or he should be reshuffled.”
