Tory MP Blocks Metal Theft Bill

John Spellar MP Slams Tory MP who Blocked Metal Theft Bill

A central London Tory MP who blocked the Metal Theft Bill in Parliament on Friday has been slammed by West Midlands Labour MP John Spellar.

The Metal Theft Bill was supported by MPs of all parties, including both Labour and Tory MPs from the Black Country.  However, when it came up at close of business in Parliament on Friday it was blocked by Tory, Greg Hands MP for Chelsea and Fulham.  Before he entered Parliament he was a trader in a City Bank.

John Spellar MP said:-

“Clearly with his privileged lifestyle and his affluent constituents, Greg Hands hasn’t got a clue about the misery metal theft is inflicting across the country.  MPs from both parties across the Black Country supported this measure and the Government say that they want to take action.  This Tory MP has let down the Black Country and also his fellow MPs.”
